Forney is a city in Kaufman County and has been named by the Texas legislature as the “Antique Capital of Texas”. The Forney Independent School District serves Forney and Talty. The Forney citizens and Forney Jackrabbits are known for their school spirit and this community still retains its small-town atmosphere and tons of pride.
Heartland is an unincorporated community located in Kaufman County. The 2,000-acre master-planned community is located 25 miles east of Downtown Dallas and is part of the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. The community is served by the Crandall Independent School District. There is one of seven planned schools within Heartland.
The community includes a 35 acre stocked lake with a fishing pier, many hike and bike trails (designed to make it safer for children to walk to school), parks, a junior Olympic swimming pool, a playground, a baseball field, a soccer field and a basketball court. In 2009 Heartland was awarded community of the year by The Homebuilders Association of Greater Dallas.
Gateway Development in the city of Forney is one of the up-and-coming, fastest-growing areas in the Dallas Metroplex. The largest master-planned community planned in the US broke ground in 2016. Gateway is a 2,000+ acre master-planned development in Forney, offering families and businesses a peaceful setting in which to live, work and play.
Luxury apartment communities, retail, office and entertainment venues on the north side of US 80 will be linked by a $23 million Gateway Bridge to light commercial, office and single-family residential neighborhoods on the south side via Gateway Blvd. Initial development phases on the Northside of US 80 are ready complete and more phases are currently underway.
Gateway Boulevard South is in development to connect with Gateway Parks, a new 540 acre single-family home community. This inviting neighborhood will offer families affordable living with plenty of popular amenities including hike and bike trails, a resort-style amenity center with pools and a splash pad, a spacious clubhouse, creative play areas, a planned city park with baseball and soccer fields as well as a future potential on-site elementary school.
